Almost Easter

Will has gotten a tooooof and sat in a high chair for the first time (even if it was for seven minutes)...and also said DADA and MAMAMAMA. We are pretty sure he doesn't know what he is saying but it is still cute.

I am on spring break from work. I haven't heard anything about my job and the future destiny of it. The grant is up in June. I have started praying and thinking about other options including things with CRC.

We were looking at houses recently but we have decided to stop looking. We would really love to build but can't afford what we want right now so we may just wait until we can afford it.

Four weeks until the big half marathon race for me. ah....deep breath. I am going to finish it!!

We had my father's birthday. He was really surprised by all of it. I can't believe that my dad is 60... and I can't believe that Will is already six months old. crazy.

Patrick and I have talked about moving a lot more recently.  We didn't think we would move for another year but we have already started looking and even went to three open houses over the weekend. Honestly, we aren't even sure what we can afford at this moment.... but we just want to know what is out there. Its really important now to pick a location for the future. Will will be going to school in the next five years...wow!

My training for the half marathon is going well. I am running with Nicole. We ran 9 1/2 miles this past Sunday. This weekend we have to do 10. Yikes. My body really hurts after 10 miles.

The Markmans have left and are now in Kansas City for 10 months or so.

I am learning how vulnerable we are to the world and things of this world. Last night I prayed that my desire for God would outweigh  my desire for the world. That is my prayer as I head into today. God purify my thoughts, emotions, desires and motives.

Make me more like you!

Yesterday was my father's 60th birthday. We are having a surprise party for him tomorrow night. Tonight I am going to dinner with Jodie, Tina and Katie and then going to see slumdog millionaire.

Will is doing really well. He is over five months now. I can not believe how fast it is going. Today is a Friday that I get to stay home with him. It's wonderful!!! When I left his room for a nap, he always looks upside down and back at me with this wonderful smile. It seriously melts my heart.

Holly had baby Luke two weeks ago. I can't wait to meet him. Heather Dingman had baby Anna last week.... The Pinkleton's had their girl. Brad and Sharon are due with baby Abby in five weeks and Jodie and Chris are due with baby Caleb in four and a half weeks. Katie and Thor had Charlie almost two months ago and before that Erinne and Gerry had baby Shep (i still haven't seen him)... Tina and Blake are pregnant. WHOA....the babies.

Sarah and John are leaving in ten days or so for Kansas City. I am really excited for them to going and following what God's destiny for their lives.

A huge event in my life is happening the first week in May. I am running in my first half marathon. It's crazy.

In december when I went back to work I started working part time. The grant is up in June. We still do not know what is going to happen after June. It's definitely a matter of prayer for me.

We are still living on K*****Y. The house has a lot of character but not enough room for us. With Memphis and Caesar and Will's toys we are definitely in need of more space.

here are two recent photos from my phone that I have taken of my favorite boy in the world.

All New Mommies... Chrisdee's New Mom's must haves!

Chrisdee’s everyday essentials

Some are things you probably already registered for without a doubt others might catch you off guard.

  1. Pack and Play

This isn’t the one I have…but it has a bassinet which we used a lot at first but now Will naps upstairs in crib more or on go.

http://www.amazon.com/Graco-Portable-Playard-Bassinet-Changing/dp/B000UEA9ZW/ref=pd_bbs_10?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227026145&sr=8-10

  1. Video Monitor

This is the one I have. Now…you may pick up someone else’s signal and they may pick up yours. We just turn it off and on as soon as we are done using it. We were concerned at first but it is worth it for us. We don’t over obsess about what he is doing but it does help us tell whether or not he really is awake or if he can go back to sleep. I did contact that company with this concern and they said they were planning on coming out with one that wouldn’t interfere…it wasn’t out yet when we registered but it may be out now.

  1. Car Mirror

Okay so this will get a little annoying but the music and lights are worth it. One of my friends kids didn’t like the pitch black of driving at night (this would help). Also its fun noise for him that helps him calm down. There is a remote control for this one. WE LOVE IT!!! J (we do know the songs by heart)

  1. Stain Remover

A MUST HAVE!

http://www.amazon.com/Totally-Toddler-Stain-Remover/dp/B0017OAGHU/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227026958&sr=8-1

  1. Bags

These are really cheap at Wal-Mart. Good for diaper bags but we also use them for #2’s at home. They stink up even when in diaper champ so we use the bag and throw outside.

http://www.amazon.com/Sassy-Diaper-Sacks-50-ct/dp/B000RHLSKC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227027008&sr=1-2

  1. A Bouncer but wait … what kind of bouncer??? THE DIFFERENCE SEEMS MINIMAL BUT ITS VERY IMPORTANT.

This is like the one I got from a shower…

http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Papasan-Infant-Natures-Wonder/dp/B0017ID8YY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227027198&sr=1-1

But this is the one we use more (borrowing from brother)

http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Ocean-Wonders-Aquarium-Bouncer/dp/B000324Y7U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227027315&sr=1-2

The second one is worth it. Vibrates AND bounces and has more cool things on it that entertain. I wouldn’t compromise on this at all!!!

  1. Swing

We use this in so many different ways. We love that it is a cradle swing and goes front to back and sits up. We sometimes sit him in it without swinging to look at the mobile and listen to music. Really helps when fussy!!!

http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Little-Dreamy-Motions-Deluxe/dp/B0018Z6910/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227027569&sr=1-1

  1. Play Dome

Important if you have dogs. Will always wants to be on his back. This way I don’t have to always lay next to him or put the dogs in other room.

http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Bounce-Play-Activity/dp/B000P5KVKO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227028825&sr=1-7

  1. Breast Pump

Yes its expensive. You can rent one from hospital or health department but if you are breastfeeding its worth it!!!

http://www.amazon.com/Medela-Pump-Style-Breast-Shoulder/dp/B0011E5LYE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227028907&sr=1-1

  1. Cream

This is my favorite. It does have a color so when I use it I use pads so that my bra isn’t yellow…I just like the softness of this cream compared to the others.

http://www.amazon.com/Medela-87122-Tender-Care-Lanolin/dp/B0011EB814/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227030641&sr=8-1

  1. Gas Drops

Please don’t spend this much but get these… There are many brands. Target and Meijer make their own brand and it’s much cheaper!!! These are a must have.

http://www.amazon.com/Little-Tummys-Newborns-Infants-Children/dp/B001F0RAW0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227030714&sr=1-1

  1. Bundle Me

I like the one I have. It was a new style that is silky on the outside for bad weather.

http://www.amazon.com/JJ-Cole-Urban-Infant-Bundle/dp/B000G7YO5E/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1227030988&sr=1-4

  1. Everything else

…that you don’t get or don’t have $$$$$ for

I wasn’t given a highchair and we got mine here for $25 and its up to date folds up and has many different height positions. I am a big fan of buying used on some things.
